Yasmine Robinson’s work explores themes of identity, and re-interpretation of contemporary Northern Irish culture living in London, embracing the friction between nostalgia and progressive adaption. Responding to the urban environment with the reference of painting remaining central to her practice, her multimedia works are collaged from found surfaces combined with painterly techniques that combine the visual languages of the city and historical painting.
Yasmin (b. Northern Ireland) lives and works in London. He graduated with an MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art in 2018, having previously completed her BA in Fine Art at Ulster University. Recent exhibitions and projects include: Mutation Station (Group Exhibition) at im labor (Tokyo, 2020), Unsheltered as it is (Group Exhibition) at D Contemporary (London, 2020), Young Gods (Group Exhibition) at Charlie Smith Gallery (London, 2019), 34th Annual Open Exhibition (Group Exhibition) at CGP London (London, 2018).
