Bio
Luke Samuel’s paintings focus on the threshold between interior and exterior spaces, holding up ideas relating to the “inside” against “outside" and experimenting with the moment that language, affect and representation bleed into one another, creating an inexplicable and affirming sensation of something other.
Luke (b. Cardiff) lives and works in London. He is currently studying for his Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal Academy Schools, having previously completed his BA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths (2012-2015). Recent exhibitions and projects include: Premiums (Royal Academy Schools Interim Show) at The Royal Academy of Arts (London, 2020), LANDGRAB (Group Exhibition) at The Shop, Sadie Coles HQ (London, 2019), RBA Rising Stars (Group Exhibition) at The Framers Gallery (London, 2018), Summer Exhibition 2017 (Group Exhibition) at The Royal Academy Of Arts (London, 2017).
