Bio
Ollie Dook is a multi-media and installation based artist whose work examines the power relations of looking, referencing in particular the rise of the attention economy, and of non-human animals. His work draw on the language of digital platforms, zoo design and the construction of artificial environments to create artworks that imitate natural habitats and expose our digital ways of seeing.
Ollie (b. Brighton & Hove) lives and works in London. He graduated with an MA in Sculpture-Moving image from Royal College of Art in 2017, having previously completed his BA in Painting at Camberwell College of Arts (2012-2015). Recent exhibitions and projects include: Proboscidea Rappings (Solo Exhibition) at Humber Street Gallery (Hull, 2020), Zabludowicz Collection Invites: Ollie Dook (Solo Exhibition) at Zabludowicz Collection (London, 2019), Silly Symphony (Group Exhibition) at Ex-Baldessarre (Bedford, 2018), The Unlimited Dream Company (Group Exhibition, co-organised by Charlie Mills and Ralph Hunter-Menzies) at Hannah Barry Gallery (London, 2018).
