Bio
Lindsey Mendick is an artist that champions exultant and unforgiving feminism. Working predominantly in ceramic and fabric, her works are often seen as obscene or flamboyant in character, filled with melodrama and vivacious colour. Through an amalgam of autobiography and myth, Mendick’s work makes explicit reference to the female body and its liberation, to questions of self-esteem and her own personal history of intimacy and loss.
Lindsey (b. London) lives and works in Margate. She graduated with an MA in Sculpture from Royal College of Art in 2017, having previously completed her BA at Sheffield Hallam University (2009-2012). Recent exhibitions and projects include: Hairy on the Inside (Solo Exhibition) at Cooke Latham Gallery (London, 2021), Are You Going to Destroy Me?
