Bio
Pilvi Takala (b. 1981, Helsinki, FI) lives and works in Berlin. She graduated with an MA and BFA from the Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki, in 2006, having previously studied Environmental Art at Glasgow School of Art in 2004. Working in video, installation and social practice, Takala uses performative interventions as a means to process social structures and question the normative rules and truths of our behaviour in different cultural contexts. By knowingly misinterpreting rules and social codes, Takala challenges social conventions that are usually taken for granted.
